This was a message from the lovely Mccabe of Dancing Mermaid. I wanted to help her get the word out for this great cause.

hi friends!
this is for the rescue house silent auction, which is the great group i have been volunteering with. a lot of cats have been rescued and placed into loving homes because of the generous donations people contribute!
artist friends: anything you have would be lovely-small prints/items as well. from what i hear, the art was a bigger seller last year.
if you have any service that would be available, i ask you to consider. it is all about the animals!

Would you like to help the Rescue House save kitties by donating a gift certificate or an item for our silent auction fundraiser? All donations are tax deductible and 100% of the profits will go to provide medical care and shelter to our rescued animals.
Our fundraiser “Paws with a Cause” will take place on Saturday, June 5th, 2010. Your generous donation will help us save, spay/neuter, medically treat, foster and find homes for adoptable kittens/cats throughout San Diego County. Your donation will also advertise your establishment to the approximately 200 prepaid guests who will attend our fundraiser.
The Rescue House is a Section 501c(3) non-profit, 100% volunteer-based San Diego organization dedicated to assisting cats through its rescue, foster and adoption activities. We find loving, caring homes for unwanted, abandoned, homeless and abused cats. We are a true no-kill cat rescue organization relying solely on donations from both the public and private entities such as Petco Charities. Since our inception in 1999, we have found homes for over 8000 cats and kittens. We currently have 8 permanent adoption centers located in pet stores throughout San Diego.

I’m learning about myself.
One major thing is that I do best with a less cluttered space
to live & dwell in.
That means every once and awhile I need to release things
I have acquired.
Not because i don’t love them. I have & do.
It’s just that for me to live my best way, it’s simple.
I guess I start ‘acquiring’ when i feel like i am lacking
from the inside and i hope it will make that feeling go
away.
it usually does for a little while but the piece is not the point.
me knowing and being true to me is.
time to let some more things go.
very treasured and special but releasing them
for the universe to place it where it will.
i trust that process.
thank you for the deep joy
each piece brought me while i owned it.
it needs a new home now.
thank you.
I will be listing the items in MELLY’s EBAY STORE. Check it out, peeps! More items in the next few days.

hey 2009.
you have brought many things.
i have opened my heart wide…
learned more about the kind of person i am…
questioned “reality”…
experienced success…
allowed people to ‘carry’ me when i needed it…
met some really wonderful NEW friends…
continued to love the OLD friends…
created this blog…
rode a jetski…
understood that ‘all or nothing’ is a curse…
laughed a lot…
cried too…
lived gently and with strength of will…
spread joy (with the encouragement of the ultimate joy rebel, brandi)
been there for my family (as they have for me)…
dreamed big (and small)…
embraced tiny moments…
i am ready to welcome in 2010.
may you bring even more revelations.
blessings to you.
Got featured.

It’s the big 3-5. Time for birthday wishes…

These are really wacky ceramic salt shakers I got for my birthday last year!
Today I turn 35 (Aug 30). Since “Love & A Photo” is the feature on Sundays, I am posting this a little early.
As a special treat, a friend did a growth card reading: it was Death. Now at first I was slightly freaked out but then she shared some of what it could mean for this year.
Here’s what the description offered: “This year does not usually mean your own literal death; on the contrary, it is during this year that you can experience the death of an old identity, the ending of certain types of relationships, the closure of certain creative projects or types of work, and simultaneously the desire to initiate and start new relationships, projects, careers, and expression of new parts of oneself.”
This really speaks to me due to how my life has been unfolding lately. Shedding some really old limiting beliefs & thoughts. Striking out in new areas & embracing the inner adventuress I know is there.
I have many dreams, goals, and things I want to try. For now, I will be nurturing them inside of my spirit until I feel ready to take steps out & share them.
I’m enjoying (and learning from) the few projects I have started recently:
** “Love & A Photo” Series (my ‘baby’ and the project I am most attached to)
** Moonlight & Moonstones: A Sparkle Note project
** Building this bloggy haven into a place that wonderfully displays truth, warmth, art, magic, love, and giving (all the things that inspire me).
** Getting more focus on my intentions
As much as I want to rush forward there is some cultivating that needs to happen to make sure these treasures flourish!
Tonight, celebrate with me as I turn that awesome age of 35! If you choose, leave a fabulous birthday wish or thought (for all of you shy peeps, de-lurk just this once. I would love to hear from you.)
