hello!

i’ve been reading so many articles and posts about the “perfect” about page-

is there even such a thing?

so….i decided to do it like this since a Q & A format suits me better.  Easy AND much less pressure (two things i am all about).

what is your name? Melanie but most people call me Mel or Melly

how old are you? 35 ( I am a virgo, although I am nothing like a total virgoan)

life’s work:  i consider myself a true bohemian.  i love to encourage people. i enjoy painting.  finding magic in the little moments. getting my thoughts down on paper. i’m working on starting a small side business. For my “day job”, i am a set costumer for film & tv.

why did you start blogging? at first it was just to keep an online collection of thoughts. then it became much more. this blog is about opening up and sharing my heart with others. learning about courage. fulfilling dreams and meeting new people. i have been blessed in an over-the-moon way and will continue on this crazy journey. it is fabulous and wonderfully complex.

what makes you think you can blog? i have words. i have a soul. i have a voice. when i write it is with my heart AND that frees me to share my thoughts. (everything else is up to the person reading my words)

what purpose does your blog serve? if i am lucky, people will connect. they will enjoy my stories &  will walk away feeling more empowered to let their own light shine.

what is your philosophy of life? be kind to others and love freely

what is your best quality? i’m  genuine, generous, find the magic around me, and enjoy beauty. (that’s a few “bests” but it is my Q & A so i can do what i want!)

what challenges you? lots of things, mostly living true to who i am. i find this world is kind of set up to box you into being a person you aren’t. it is tough work staying true (and so worth it)!

name 1 pet peeve? people who are rude (totally unnecessary)

let’s say you bump into someone on the street and could say anything to them.  what is one thing you would tell someone before they walk off…as cliche as this sounds, i would say, “hey beautiful person.  yeah you! walk tall, you are a rockstar! own it!  unfortunately, it would probably get me a weird look and i am hoping to try it some time to see what happens.  i think people need to hear just how awesome they are more often.

do you have tough days? sure i do. lately though i am beginning to understand that i can make a choice. i can choose to walk in joy. i can choose not to let my heart be batted around. choice is a powerful thing. we don’t give it enough credit!

what is you favorite food? greek and pizza

where are you going on your next holiday? greece, has to be santorini.

For all of September, I will only be writing 1 post a week & taking a self imposed bloggy reading sabbatical to really listen to my heart and play with my dreams.

I’ll be writing whatever I want to, however I want to.
